Food

I am loving Ethiopian food!

Injera, the sour pancake like bread, is served with most dishes and is a delicious addition to all meals.

We have eaten a lot of Shiro, which is a common dish made from ground chick pea flour and the spice berbere - so flavorful. We have also eaten, at most meals, some variation of Talapia, which is sourced right here at Lake Awassa.

Ethiopians eat with their right hand and scoop food into a small piece of injera.  Dishes are placed in the middle of the table and shared with all.

Before each meal hands are washed.

We have been very fortunate to spend many meals with our Ethiopian hosts.
Today we were taken out to a traditional lunch with the teachers from our partner school.

A fun and enjoyable way to eat!
